Balance & Boundaries
I’ll be the first to admit that, historically speaking, I’ve had a terrible work life balance. But when you love your job, it doesn't feel like it’s a bad idea, right? It feels fun, exciting, warm, fuzzy and like you’re making the world a better place. All of which are probably true. However, at the same time you are slowly emptying a piece of yourself with no plan to fill it up.
Best of ATL…
I moved to Atlanta right after college. Ponce City Market was City Hall East. There was no Beltline. 10th & Piedmont was an intersection, not a restaurant and you could still hang out at one-tweezy with Ludacris & Jermaine Dupri. I had to mapquest AND PRINT OUT directions. This also meant that I got lost a lot. The best part about getting lost is what you find along your way back to your destination.
Welcome to Atlanta
Let’s start with the most important information—no one calls it “Hotlanta.” There are signs at the airport dedicated to this fact. Local breweries have named beers after this tidbit. Commit this to memory.
The making of The Hollywood of the South - Part 2
You’ve read my account of how Atlanta became the Hollywood of the South, now check out a random compilation of some MUST SEE movies and TV shows that were filmed in Atlanta since Georgia passed the Entertainment Industry Investment Act.
The making of The Hollywood of the South - Part 1
Let me take you back to 2004. I landed a paid internship (which eventually turned into a full-time job) at a post-production company called LAB601 on the corner of North Ave and Glen Iris in the Old 4th Ward. During that time, Atlanta's film and TV industry was centered around Ted Turner’s subsidiaries (TBS, TCM, Cartoon Network, etc), The Weather Channel, and the Independent Movie scene.

All of my tattoos have a story - some just a little more personal and special than others….Singular arrow tattoos represent movement and direction.
