What a Difference a Year Makes.

When you look at yourself in the mirror every day you don’t notice the incremental changes that turn into big ones over time. It’s amazing how much your body keeps tabs on all the other factors happening around you. Stress, anxiety, lack of sleep, being overworked, lack of proper nutrition, being prescribed one medication to alleviate the side effects of another. I hit my breaking point months before the photo on the left was taken. To be honest, I hit my breaking point more than once. But I felt like I was doing everything humanly possible to make necessary changes to get healthier. I was in a vicious cycle and felt miserable all the time. Nothing worked…I even tried Ozempic and wegovy. My body had some serious objections to both of them. (If it’s working for you, I’m jealous, that’s awesome & GO YOU!!)

Through a long series of smaller decisions that “make zero sense to the logical world,” you see the girl on the right. I didn’t spend an hour in the gym every day. I simply started doing things that make me happy. I traveled anywhere & everywhere, I started gardening, doing DIY projects, volunteering more with organizations I care about, being more active, and cooking at home. Because of this, I was able to taper off some of my meds. Meds that were keeping me bloated, hungry, depressed, etc. It’s been a hell of a year…. 6 months of which I wouldn’t wish on anyone. But through that, I learned how to advocate for myself a lot better and say “There’s no reason why I can’t do that!”

So today, I encourage you to ask yourself “What will really make you happy?” And make it happen! (You know without breaking any laws.) There’s no reason why you can’t.

And don’t forget - Love God. Love People. Love Yourself. Love Your Life!
